Schools
concise.press creates concise versions of public domain historical texts perfect for your school library. We have started with our first publication - a concise version of Herodotus - The Histories and hope to continue soon with Suetonius - The Twelve Caesars, Arrian - Alexander the Great and other texts.
The idea behind these publications is to encourage people who might have trouble reading the original text to get an idea of history from the source. History in less Time we call it. We know that a lot of students may not like to read at all so hope to supplement our (concise) books with videos, podcasts and other social media to make it at least a little more interesting.
Our books are available from Amazon and from your local book shop or book distributor. If you want to purchase a number of copies for all your students then we might be able to help you get a better price for 25+ copies. An eBook version is also available.
We hope to build a network of history enthusiasts, teachers and academics who want either to create a concise historical text or help review and encourage others to do so. Similarly if your students are interested enough to create some social media content as part of their history projects - we would love to be involved and help.
As we build our network - you may find some authors local to you willing to come to the school and give a talk or lecture. Please join our community and find out more.
